HOW OUR CATTLE ARE RAISED

Grass-fed, regenerative grazing, non-competitive bale feeding and lots of fun and happiness.

A BIT ABOUT THE RANCH

While we’re a newer ranch, our land has been farmed by family for decades and continuing that is important to us. We’re located in South East Saskatchewan, just south of Oxbow, with easy access to cross-Canada, and cross-border shipping to the U.S.
We built the ranch from scratch, with kilometres of fence, new roads, a barn that our Highlands don’t want to spend time in (they’re outdoor enthusiasts), a gushing deep well, a solid hay operation and capped off with valley, forest, and two springs. It’s perfect land for Highlands with great grazing, shelter, variety and room to wander a bit. Today there are 47 Scottish Highlands enjoying the land about as much as we do.

MEET OUR FOLD

Building a Highland Fold wasn’t a quick decision for us, it was the result of a lot of research and thoughtfulness. With 47 purebred, registered Scottish Highlands, we’re growing a fold of carefully selected cattle.

When we started all this, we looked for Highlands with a solid lineage, great body confirmation, and a calm demeanor.
Today we have a fold that is producing beautiful calves that are healthy, happy and just plain fun to be around.

Each year we sell our heifer calves, but keep 5 to 10 as replacements and to slowly grow the fold. The steers are kept until we can have them processed for custom beef.
